    Transactional Email

    A one-off email triggered by a specific user action, such as a receipt, password reset or shipping notification.

    Transactional emails are functional, not promotional. They are usually sent through a separate API (SendGrid, Postmark, AWS SES, Brevo, Mailgun) optimized for speed and deliverability. Mixing transactional and marketing email on the same domain or IP can hurt the deliverability of both, so many senders separate them.
